That’s the overarching Lutheran philosophy of our two retirement communities, The Village at Rockville, Maryland, with its long tradition of fellowship, and The Village at Orchard Ridge, Virginia, a new approach to senior living, now under development. Both are home to all faiths.

We’ll welcome you to a wooded 30-acre campus with access to as many activities as you choose—even if you just want to relax with a good book. Here, neighbors quickly become friends, joining together in a potluck supper, a trip to the nation’s Capitol, or a volunteer project on campus. Rockville’s renowned skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services have helped make it a destination for health and healing; it now plans to add assisted living and home and community based health services to enhance your way of life. NLCS is building The Village at Orchard Ridge on a 132-acre site in Winchester, Virginia, based on a “village green” concept. Three styles of independent living housing, along with a full continuum of care, will be available, with a strong emphasis on home and community based services. This beautiful Shenandoah Valley community is designed to give residents more choices, from the range of activities to the items on the menu to the ways they receive health care.
