The minimum age is 65 for a single person. In the case of
a married couple, one spouse must be at least 65, the other must be at least 60. The
capability of the individual(s) to live and function independently is, however, a factor
of admission to Independent Living.
All services and facilities are available to every ILP resident equally without
regard to race, color or national origin. There are no denominational restrictions
for the ILP. The primary advantage of the ILP is
priority access by residents to high quality health care with which the program is
coupled. The ILP Agreement states: should the resident require and desire admission to
the main facility, admission shall be given to the resident subject only to the
availability of space in the main facility.
No meal plans are mandated by the program. A cafeteria in the main facility is
available for noon and evening meals at a reasonable cost.
Medical care is available to ILP residents through the Home's
physicians, therapists and wellness nurse. Nursing care
is not permitted in the individual units. Home nurses respond to
emergency calls from the units.
There are three sizes of units ranging from 892 to 943 square feet.
Each unit is equipped with a call bell system that connects the unit to the main desk for
emergency nursing and security response.
